SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals
Recently Welcomed Luke Robinson
And his Two Companion Dogs
![]()
Luke Robinson and his two Great Pyrenees, Hudson and Murphy have been walking from Austin, Texas to Boston, Massachusetts since January of 2008 to raise awareness for canine cancer - all because his soul dog, Malcolm, lost his life to cancer. In the beginning, it was a walk to find out why cancer claimed Malcolm. Now the walk has turned into his life’s work: to raise awareness for what has come to be known as comparative oncology: the need to research canine cancer because of the similarities between human and animal cancer. If a cure can be developed for canine lymphoma, chances are it is the cure for human lymphoma.
To date, Luke has walked about 1,800 miles. He arrived at SAVE on Saturday, December 12, and spent the entire afternoon meeting with SAVE staff and volunteers. Everyone was touched and amazed by Luke’s story and they adored his beautiful dogs!
